Lenny Kravitz with Lee Daniels;    On Tuesday, Lenny Kravitz posted Instagram photos of himself, Lee Daniels, Queen Latifah, and Naomi Campbell on the set of Daniels’ new show Star.

The role Kravitz will play in Star has not been announced.

Like Empire, Daniels new show Star is centered around the ups and downs of the music business.

According to FOX TV Group Chairman and CEO Dana Walden , the main difference between Empire and Star is the viewpoint from which the story is told.

Empire focuses on the ups and downs the executives face in the music business, while Star focuses on the ups and downs the musicians face.

The 1976 hit movie Sparkle and the 1990s Grammy-award winning group TLC are the two best examples of what to expect from Star.

Sparkle is centered around a three member female group and the hurdles they face while trying to make it big in the music business in Detroit, Michigan. They become familiar with the music businesses also common vices of money, sex, and drugs. The allure of these vices, plus fame, leads one of the women down a grim, deadly path.

Although no one has said whether one of the young ladies in Star will be killed off, it is safe to say they will become the victims of the music businesses common vices while on their journey to fame.

It is also safe to say that the women in Star, who like TLC are a three member female group from Atlanta, will have a TLC experience whereby they get stiffed by their manager and have to go through hell and fire in order to get back their money.

Fox TV Group Chairman and CEO Dana Walden told The Hollywood Reporter that Star will be “a mixture of music, drama, and soap.”

Star is being filmed in Atlanta and will air on Wednesdays, at 9PM, beginning in January 2017.
